We are back after some tech problems.  This Sunday Pastor Grave talked about commitment and change based on a difficult text from Luke Chapter 12:49-56.

We at Zion hope this sermon touches your heart with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Please contact us if we may minister to you in any other ways.

July 13th, 2007

Hello all,

we are struggling with the upload part of this podcast.  We have recordings of all our services but at this time are unable to get them to stick.  Please continue to check us out and know that our prayers go to God for our missions in the world.

May 6, Inclusive or Exclusive?

May 9th, 2007

Pastor Jay brings the message this day as we celebrate first communion and confirmation.  The message confronts the paradox between being an Inclusive and Exclusive church.  The text is from Acts 11, and John 13.

A special prayer for Shailey and Jennifer as they begin new stages in their faith lives, and our prayer is with you as you participate in worship with us.   Please contact us at www.zion-lutheran.com if we may be a greater part of your faith journey.

 In Christ,

Pastor Jay

Pastor Grave reflects on fear and peace in this Sunday’s sermon.  The Gospel text is from John chapter 20.

This podcast also includes the childrens’ sermon from the 10:30 Service.  The ministers of Zion try to have a children’s sermon each and every Sunday.

If there is any way we may be a greater part of your spiritual growth, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Easter Service, April 8 2007

April 12th, 2007

Pastor Grave brought the message at Zion on a cold and icy Easter Morning.  In the cold Easter morning the flowers of the cross and the warmth of the congregation was all the more a visible sign of the resurection.

Welcome to those of you that are new to Zion FBG podcast.  We are a Texas Hill Country Lutheran Church on Main Street in Fredericksburg, TX.  Our normal worship attendance is about 175.  If you are in the area come and join us, if you are at a distance participate with us on our website, www.zion-lutheran.com.

God Bless,

Pastor Grave

April 1st, Palm Sunday

April 4th, 2007
The Scripture, as we know it, was first told and retold as the “story” of God’s love for the world.  When God’s Word was eventually written down in the forms that we have it today, we began to occupy ourselves with the meaning of the “words” rather than listening for the living Word spoken through the story.  In the last few years I have taken it up myself to memorize the Passion story from each of the Gospels to be presented on Palm Sunday.  What follows is the retelling of Christ’s passion according to the Gospel of Luke.

Rev. Dr. Wayne Menking, March 28, 2007

March 29th, 2007

What a shame it is that we again had some technological problems last night.  Rev. Dr. Menking delievered an excellent message challenging the congregation of Zion to evaluate the nuances of the word Heritage.  N.F.S. Gruntvig’s hymn God’s Word is Our Great Heritage as well as the Prologue of John and sections of John 8 provided the foundation.

This was the last service in the Fellowship Hall due to the Sanctuary construction and hopefully the tech problems will work themselves out in our usual space.

Grace to you and Peace from our Lord and Savior Jesus, the Christ.

March 25, Traditional Worship

March 25th, 2007

This morning the little MP3 recorder stopped recording in the center of Pastor Grave’s sermon.  Hopefully Pastor Grave will have time to record a message for the podcast community.

The worshipping community of Zion Lutheran ELCA of Fredericksburg, Texas will be able to worship in the sanctuary next week and is very excited.

If we can assist you in your spiritual growth or if you just want to learn more about who we are check us out at www.zion-lutheran.com

God Bless.

God’s Word is Our Great Heritage, Paige Menking

March 25th, 2007

Tonight we were blessed to have a High School Senior, Paige Menking, bring the message.  This sermon is again based in the prologue of John’s Gospel (1:1-14).

It was a blessing and an honor to hear this well spoken young adult so clearly proclaim the Gospel message.  And although I have had little part in her Christian upbringing, I was beaming with pride throughout; much like her Mom and Dad sitting in front of me.

God Bless,

Pastor Grave
