Rev. Dr. Wayne Menking, March 28, 2007

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

What a shame it is that we again had some technological problems last night.  Rev. Dr. Menking delievered an excellent message challenging the congregation of Zion to evaluate the nuances of the word Heritage.  N.F.S. Gruntvig’s hymn God’s Word is Our Great Heritage as well as the Prologue of John and sections of John 8 provided the foundation.

This was the last service in the Fellowship Hall due to the Sanctuary construction and hopefully the tech problems will work themselves out in our usual space.

Grace to you and Peace from our Lord and Savior Jesus, the Christ.

March 25, Traditional Worship

Sunday, March 25th, 2007

This morning the little MP3 recorder stopped recording in the center of Pastor Grave’s sermon.  Hopefully Pastor Grave will have time to record a message for the podcast community.

The worshipping community of Zion Lutheran ELCA of Fredericksburg, Texas will be able to worship in the sanctuary next week and is very excited.

If we can assist you in your spiritual growth or if you just want to learn more about who we are check us out at www.zion-lutheran.com

God Bless.

God’s Word is Our Great Heritage, Paige Menking

Sunday, March 25th, 2007

Tonight we were blessed to have a High School Senior, Paige Menking, bring the message.  This sermon is again based in the prologue of John’s Gospel (1:1-14).

It was a blessing and an honor to hear this well spoken young adult so clearly proclaim the Gospel message.  And although I have had little part in her Christian upbringing, I was beaming with pride throughout; much like her Mom and Dad sitting in front of me.

God Bless,

Pastor Grave

Sunday March 4

Monday, March 12th, 2007

Pastor Ensrude shares the message with the congregation today.  His message is based on the text from Luke 13:31-35.  For the Children’s sermon Pastor Ensrude described how the many stained glass windows in our sanctuary tell the story, and this cut into the time of the longer sermon.

This podcast is the sermon and the sermon hymn.

2nd Sunday in Lent

Monday, March 5th, 2007

Today’s service was especially exciting.  Pastor Ensrude led a wonderful interactive childrens’ sermon.  Our Young people were shown all the symbolism in our stained glass windows.  As I said, it was wonderful however it doesn’t lend itself to the podcast format.

Our next service will be Wednesday March 7, 2007.

 God Bless,

Pastor Jay Grave
